Building description
“The strip foundation is reinforced with reinforced concrete, with a depth of 8 cm.”
“The floor slab was constructed using reinforced concrete with a moisture-resistant design (similar to waterproof concrete).”
“The exterior wall has a thickness of 38 cm and is built with double masonry, using three-chamber bricks on both sides.”
“The roof is a mono-pitch roof with a reinforced concrete ceiling. It has been additionally insulated and constructed with rear ventilation.”
“The roof drainage is handled by a 22-meter-long gutter measuring 20 cm in height and 20 cm in width. The rainwater is directed through several downpipes, each 70 mm in diameter, which are embedded inside the load-bearing columns of the terrace. From there, the water flows into a horizontal 150 mm drainage line and continues for approximately 30 meters with a slight slope into a soakaway pit with a capacity of 15 m³. This design ensures that, during extreme rainfall—which can occur in Paraguay—the excess water can disperse and infiltrate the ground around 70 meters away from the house.”
